Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Place a 12-inch cast iron skillet or heavy-bottomed non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until the meat is thoroughly browned and has developed crispy, mahogany edges.
  2. Lower the heat to medium. Pour in the soy sauce and brown sugar. Stir continuously for 2–3 minutes until the sauce bubbles and thickens into a shimmering, sticky coating that clings to the beef.
  3. Remove from heat immediately. Stir in the sesame oil. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
