Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Pat the shrimp thoroughly dry with paper towels. In a medium bowl, toss the shrimp with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a 12-inch stainless steel or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add one tablespoon of oil.
  3. Place shrimp in a single layer in the skillet. Sear for 2 minutes without moving them, flip, and sear for 1 minute more until they are pink and golden. Remove shrimp to a plate immediately.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add the butter to the same pan. Once foaming, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice to deglaze the pan, then toss the shrimp back in for 30 seconds to coat in the sauce.
  6. Stir in chopped parsley and remove from heat immediately.
