1. Consent

By using Recipes Charm, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit any information through it. Visitors from the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom are asked for consent before non-essential cookies are used (see section 4).

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

We collect only what you choose to submit through the forms on the site:

• Contact form: your name, email address and the message you write. We use this information only to reply to you.
• Recipe ratings and comments: your name and the text you submit. Comments and the name shown with them may be displayed publicly on the recipe page, so please do not include anything you want to keep private.

Server Logs

Like most websites, our web server automatically records standard technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use these logs for security, to detect abuse and to troubleshoot technical problems.

Visit Statistics

We measure how the site is used with a first-party statistics system that runs on our own server. It records the page viewed and the referrer (the page or site you came from). Raw visit records are kept for 7 days; after that, only daily totals remain, and those totals do not identify individual visitors.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To answer the messages you send through the contact form.
• To display your rating or comment on the recipe page where you posted it.
• To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix technical problems.
• To understand which recipes and pages are useful to readers, so we can improve them.

We do not sell your personal information, and we use messages sent through the contact form only to reply to them.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our site is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, a content delivery and security service. Cloudflare may set technical cookies that help it recognize legitimate traffic, protect the site against malicious requests and deliver pages quickly. These cookies are used for security and performance, not for building a profile of your interests.

Our own visit statistics run on our server and are described in section 2. For visitors in the EEA and the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before using any cookies that are not strictly necessary, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

You can also control cookies in your browser settings: you can block them, delete existing ones or be alerted when a site tries to set one. Blocking technical cookies may affect how some pages load.

5. Service Providers and Third-Party Links

Cloudflare: processes web requests to deliver and protect the site, as described above. Cloudflare handles data under its own privacy policy.

Social profiles: the site links to our Pinterest profile. Following such a link takes you to Pinterest, which operates under its own privacy policy and may collect information about you. We recommend reading it before you use the service.

If advertising is shown on the site, the providers involved may use cookies to serve and measure ads. Where Google is one of those providers, you can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Visitors in the EEA and the United Kingdom are asked for consent before advertising cookies are used.

6. How Long We Keep Data

• Raw visit records: 7 days, then only daily totals are kept.
• Server logs: kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, and then deleted.
• Contact form messages: kept as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, then deleted.
• Ratings and comments: kept on the recipe page until you ask us to remove them or we remove them for moderation reasons.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR (EEA and UK)

If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased;
• restrict or object to how we process your data;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing that took place before you withdrew it;
• lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Where we rely on legitimate interests (for example, server security and basic site statistics), we do so because these uses are needed to run a safe, working website and are limited in scope and retention. To exercise any of these rights, use our contact page. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we aim to respond within one month.

8. Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• know what personal information we collect, use and disclose;
• request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate personal information;
• request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
• opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising;

We do not sell personal information that you submit through our forms. You can send a request through our contact page. You may also use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we may need to verify your identity and the agent's authority.

9. Children's Privacy

Recipes Charm is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the site, please tell us through the contact page and we will delete it.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you submit, including security protection through Cloudflare and limiting server logs and raw visit records to short retention periods. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal details in comments or messages.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or the law change. The "Last Updated" date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect. We encourage you to review the page from time to time. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
